As we sit in the airport lounge awaiting our flight, it’s hard to believe the day is finally here. If you asked me a year ago where I would be, I don’t think I could have imagined we would actually be here, on our way to start an adventure in New Zealand!

Saying our goodbyes to our families was really tough. Although I know we’ll see them again soon, and will Skype date every week, I will miss being able to easily pick-up the phone to chat, grab a recipe or get some advice due to the 17hr time difference.

I was glad to have had a chance to Skype with my parents while they were visiting my cousins Paul and Jan and Aunt Heather in Calgary. It’s always so much nice to see their faces and be able to capture the essence of the busy family dinner.

We had a fantastic long weekend with the Poste Family. The entire family was home enjoying a lovely weekend in Creemore filled with wonderful food, hot tub parties and a venture on Georgian Bay on the boat. Exactly what we needed after a stressful couple of weeks.

Jordan’s parents dropped us off at the airport (along with our 350lbs of luggage – yes we weighed it) and gave us a wonderful send off as we venture off to customs.

All packed up and ready to go! Jordan’s parents sending us off!
I’m sure the next 20hrs of travel time will be exhausting but it will be well worth it knowing what’s waiting for us on the other side! So Cheer’s to that!
