Happy Birthday Jordan!

A fun filled weekend of surfing, hiking and delicious New Zealand mussels topped off Jordan’s birthday weekend.

After some surf paddling training competing against gale-force winds (yes a rescue boat came out for us, but we were completely fine as it was low tide so only waist deep), the birthday boy was treated to some yummy Thai coconut New Zealand mussels accompanied by some wine and his favorite salad.

For dessert he enjoyed some marble swirl cheesecake squares (thanks for the recipe Jeanette) which are his favorite! Even at 31 you’re never too old to blow out at least one candle!

The next morning we went to go for a paddleboard lesson in Eastborne with Josh, but due to the wind (and the company undergoing renovations) they were closed so decided to go for a hike up the Butterfly Creek Forest Walk near Josh & Eliza’s place. A beautiful short hike through the native New Zealand bush brought us to the top of a look-off where you could see the entire Wellington city harbour. I can see why Josh claims it’s the best short walk in the city!
