The Tongariro Alpine Crossing is one of the best walks in New Zealand with it’s stunning Emerald Lakes and unique volcanic terrain. We made it even better with a summit of Mount Ngaurahoe (Mt Doom) and ventured into the Tongariro Northern Circuit to stay the night at the Oturere Hut.
