Over the last year we’ve been on the most amazing journey of adventure and self discovery. New Zealand has provided us with some amazing opportunities, so we decided to reflect on how much living here has impacted our perspective on life.
We shared our story as a guest post on our friends Dave & Deb’s website The Planet D. Check it out here!
Journey over Milford Sound…Wow …just wow Lisa
Thanks Lisa!
Hi,
We have made the same scary decision. Relocating from sunny South Africa. We sold our house recently and are busy selling all our belongings. Our only difference is that we are taking this step with two small children (6 & 7). But we decided it’s now or never. My husband is applying for the “special skills” visa and we have firmly decided to take this opportunity. It is currently an emotional roller coaster, but I truly believe that we are making the right decision. I am excited and petrified at the same time. But a family member told me, rather try and fail, than to go through life always wondering what could have been. Most people we meet or know have told us that if they could, they would go back or move to NZ. Your blog has shared my concerns and excitement and have given me a little peace of mind. Hopefully my next comment on your blog will be one of us arriving 🙂
Hi Leigh-Ann!
Thanks so much for reaching out 🙂 Happy to hear our blog has given you some piece of mind. It definitely is a big step to do, but like you said – it’s better to try and fail then to always wonder 🙂
Wish you all the best in your move!
Jenna
I’ve just read the whole Moving To NZ section and it’s a fascinating adventure, please keep updating it when something new happen, for example, the process you will face when your visas expire, buying a house, etc.
